Coaching
encadrement

There are currently no minimum qualification requirements for coaches participating in the Canadian Masters Weightlifting Championships and Masters weightlifting competitions sanctioned by the IWF. However, competition directors may restrict the number of coaches in the warm-up room and/or in the training facilities.

Coaches are encouraged to have at minimum the Competition Introduction (Comp-Intro) certification.

Coaches, whether certified or not, are invited to consult the Anti-Doping Education section of this website to be well aware of their responsibilities as coaches.

Coaches and their athletes are expected to collaboratively work together to ensure a complete understanding of their responsibilities.  Anti-doping education is an integral part of effective coaching.
